Saige Barlow-McCoy-Ch10

Well, I read Chapter 10 just in case we ever needed to read that chapter as well still. Anyway, hearing and its connection to singing makes a lot of sense to me, considering I do it so often! Often, I find that I am really good at imitating voices or what certain voices can do, so when I try to create a good sound while singing I listen to singers who know what they’re doing and do it well (unless it ruins their voices or sounds terrible). I do the same thing with any instruments I am learning for class or for fun, and it makes a big difference, so I always recommend it to all my music students. Of course, the anatomy of the ear is something I’ve learned many many times in school, but I think it’s still important with how it ties to how we process and maintain our hearing. Imagine being a musician of any kind and all of a sudden losing your hearing from a bad habit, like poking your ear drum with a q-tip or something. That would be MISERABLE, considering how often I use my ears to help me understand what I sound like and what I want to sound like.
