Hayden- McCoy- Ch. 1-3

I finally have the book! Huzzah!

Kapitel 1

There are a whole lot of aspects to the way we percieve someone's voice. It can be somewhat difficult to analyze someone whose voice type is different from your own.

Application:

I can see why it's so important to listen to music with a critical ear. If I can identify more easily the sounds I want and don't want, I can apply what I know about how those sounds are made to my voice and the voices of my students.

Kapitel 2

A lot goes into making just one word, or even one motion. There are different planes on which one can divide an object, or a human body/head.

Application:

I reckon that knowing some basic anatomy will help me to know how poor posture can affect the sound of a voice, be it mine or a student's.

Kapitel 3

The head bone's connected to the neck bone!

The neck bone's connected to the neck bone!

The neck bone's connected to the neck bone!

There are seven cervical vertebrae.

Lungs work with pressure. Nature abhors a vacuum.

Application:

Again, knowing about the anatomy discussed in this chapter will be very helpful when diagnosing a problem with the sound of someone's voice. Specifically knowing how the ribs work with the diaphragm and lungs is good information to help me understand what's going on under the hood, so to speak.
