My lesson went ok. I felt like my warmups were just on point! I felt really good and loose. I've been having issues with a nasal sound lately, so we did a new exercise where I started out with a really nasal sound, then lifted my soft pallet as I was singing so I could feel the difference. I thought this helped a ton! Then I threw that all out the window and struggled while I was going through specific pieces. Laurie had me really focus on the breath so I could get that lift feel more naturally. This helped, but it was so tedious! I need to remember to continue to do this in my practice for every one of my songs. It all starts with the breathing. If my breath isn't very good, then I'm not going to sound very good!
