Layton Loucks - VRH - 10/19/21

Sorry, I totally forgot to post this after VRH

Tim S.

  • Excellent tone even on the speech-like passages at the beginning

  • Very consistent resonance

  • Just a little bit off from the accompaniment at a few spots

  • Very great connection with the emotion of the piece.

Taylor W.

  • Sounds like the sound is a little far back

    • I think that is might be that the tongue is a little far back creating some tension on some of the higher notes

Faith B.

  • Sounds like she is darkening her voice artificially a little bit

  • The resonance is not quite there.

    • Needs a little bit more free resonance

Logan K.

  • Very nice tone

    • Just needs to open the mouth a bit more to allow it to travel a bit more

  • Very well done navigating between registers

Gideon B.

  • Fantastic use of the dynamic changes

    • Excellent at maintaining the energy in the more quiet passages

  • Good job navigating between registers

Collin C.

  • I have no idea about anything with Gealic diction but it sounded great

  • Great resonance in the low register

Julia C.

  • Energy was a little low in the beginning

    • Quiet note deed just as much support as the loud

  • I love the tone

Megan H

  • There was a little too much emphasis on the wrong syllables

    • This isn’t too common just on a couple words

  • Excellent resonance on held notes

    • Needs a little bit of that when the words are changing

Mary B.

  • Needs a little bit more support in quiet sections

    • Forte energy with a piano voice

  • Tone is so nice I just want to hear it more.
