Voice lesson this week was great, as always. I was preparing to sing "Something's Coming" in voice recital hour and so rehearsing that took up most of the time. The biggest thing that I needed to remember was to have core and focus even on the softer passages of the song. I also needed to make sure that the dynamic distinctions in passages was still clear. In addition to rehearsing this song we ran over the correct pronunciation of the German words in the song "Pause" by Schubert. I don't really know what else I would write about the rehearsal, but it still was very useful. Having energy in softer passages of songs is essential because otherwise you lose so much energy and your audience loses interest.
