The student will sing "gi gi gi gi gi" on a 53-42-31-27-1 pattern. This exercise works best when starting higher in the vocal register in a head or mixed voice, then transitioning downward by half step until you end up fully in the chest voice. This exercise works well to find and stabilize a mixed sound in a voice that has trouble with transitioning registers.
