Jessi - Vocal Practice Evaluation - Sep 8

Since I’m not currently taking personal vocal lessons, I practiced on my own. I started with my usual warmups, most of which help with intervals, breathing, and range. They include the abc’s in a 123454321… pattern, 1358888531 on a long e sound, and 13531 on ha. I then went through a few Italian songs that I’ve learned over the past few years. I mostly focused on Pietà, Signore, and getting the pitch right on some of the repeated notes that I struggle with. I was able to recognize when my pitch was flat, but it was hard to fix it. However, I felt better about it by the end of my practice. After the Italian, I sang through a few musical theatre songs, focusing a lot on tone and emotion. I tried to choose songs that had a variety of styles.
