Chapter 3
Who you are matters less than what you do. Deep practice helps build up myelin.
Application: deep practice is something I ought to get used to. I need to focus more on the parts of pieces that I struggle with, and less time running through the entire piece. I need to stop and reflect and analyze whenever I make a mistake. These practices will help me improve more quickly in my craft as well as keep me from damaging my voice every dang day.
Chapter 4
I feel like every chapter in this book is just reconfirming the same thing in marginally different ways. Chunk it up! Break it into chunks! Slow it down. Learn to feel it. I get it already! I lack focus. I'm working on it. These specific ways to do that are very interesting to me, however.
Application: Slowing down in particular is something that I think could be really handy for me. We've even worked on doing things more slowly in lessons lately.
