Voice Recital Hour and Personal Instruction Review. LIMERICK INCLUDED

Researches are really quite silly
For not studying lint of the belly.
If time were allotted
I think we'd have spotted
Its uses alongside toe jelly.

The performing during recital hour I chose to review was Collin Crook in his performance of Money-O. Collin has a really nice bass voice, and the piece was a fun one to showcase his range and capabilities. His voice lacked a little bit of focus (possibly from something like performance anxiety), and I feel he could have supported his tone a bit more as it was a bit difficult to hear over the piano. All in all the, a great and fun performance.

My personal voice rehearsal with Maribeth went well, but unfortunately my voice was in quite a shape after I played racquetball the night before and was foolishly screaming the whole time. Because of this we took it a bit easier, and mostly went over logistical things, as well as different exercises I could practice at home. Singing laying on my back helped me to open it up and hit high notes. I also found singing "ha ha ha ha ha" while in a squatting position helped me to not use my throat while singing.

I also really appreciated our Friday class on voice health techniques because my voice is really hurting right now.
